about me
Hello, I'm Marissa! I grew up in a family of self-starters and risk takers. My dad ran a deep sea charter business and my mom owned a production company. It wasn’t unusual for me to spend the morning with my mom at her studio and then head to the marina later that afternoon to see my dad at the boat. That evening, we’d all sit around the dinner table telling each other about our days. I loved to hear their stories. In my eyes, my parents were mavericks - they were fearless - they were creative - they could do anything. Little did I know that these experiences and dinnertime tales would become the foundation for which I have built my career.
I take inspiration from the world and people around me. As a media executive with over 15 years of experience, I am passionate about every story I’ve told through the hundreds of hours of programming I’ve produced on both linear and digital platforms.
From producing award winning true crime podcasts, to ghost-hunting with paranormal experts...from telling heroic WWII stories, to documenting the world’s best BBQ recipe..
I’m passionate about people, I’m passionate about their stories. And at the end of the day, I’m most passionate about making their stories come to life.
EXPERIENCE
When I moved to Washington, D.C. in 2009, I had no idea that I’d have the chance to work on so many incredible productions in the years to come. From my early days as a PA assisting crews in the field to my most recent time as an Executive Producer overseeing major productions and podcasts, I continue to produce inspiring content that drives audience growth.

Criminally Obsessed
As the Editorial Director of True Crime for the digital platform, Criminally Obsessed, I was responsible for starting the group from scratch. From day 1, I hired and led a team of producers, editors, community managers and researchers. Our goal was to launch a new product for fans to come together and deep dive on all things true crime. From digital documentaries on YouTube, to short form content on Instagram and TikTok. From news reports on Facebook and X, to true crime podcasts - our team was ‘first on the scene for all things true crime, uniting fellow armchair detectives in their quest to crack the case.’
